Hey everyone! :D

I would like to inform you all that the story for the latest DBZ movie "Revival of F" has been revealed, or at least a part of it. Apparently there's going to be a short manga released with the story of the movie before the movie itself......which seems kind of pointless to me, since it will basically spoil the movie, but whatever. Maybe there will be differences between them. XD

Anyway, I should tell you that these are obviously spoilers to the beginning of the movie, so if you don't want them, don't read this journal entry. You have been warned. :XD:

The setup is as follows:
www.saiyanisland.com/2015/02/d…

There are several things I would like to address:
- Freeza says he wants revenge against the two Saiyans who defeated him, strongly implying he'll want to go after Future Trunks somehow,
- Tagoma (tall bald guy in the poster) gets killed too early in the movie,
- having Sorbet (small guy in the poster) want to resurrect Freeza so that he can put his Empire back in order since Sorbet can't do it is actually a pretty good reason for wanting to revive him instead of just blind loyalty,
- Whis looks so badass training Goku and Vegeta, neither of whom can lay a finger on him,
- baby Pan is here! :aww:

And now to address the biggest issue of the movie, the thing that's causing a lot of rage on the internet. Listen everyone, we all know Freeza is no longer a threat to the Z-Fighters due to his power level. The plot twist that will make Freeza a threat again is....
he is....
going to....
train....
for.....
four months.....
........no, you're not reading that wrong. After only 4 months of training Freeza will surpass Goku because he will apparently bring forth his own untapped power (hence his "evolution" line from the trailer).......
Needless to say I, and a lot of other people on the internet, had a massive WTF moment when this was revealed. I thought it made no sense.

STILL, the movie DOES try to give an explanation for that. The explanation itself.....kind of makes sense, but it's still a little far fetched. Freeza makes a point that, because he was born powerful, he never had to train. So yeah, Freeza, Lord Freeza, the Galactic Overlord with a power level almost of a Super Saiyan (a Saiyan warrior that legends are told about and whose level has to be achieved after a lot of battles, training and sometimes an emotional kick) .....has not trained a single day in his entire life. He achieved his original power level just by growing up and living a lazy (he hardly ever walked, since he relied on his hoverchair so much), soft and luxurious life style.

Now, when you take THAT into consideration, it suddenly makes sense that, should Freeza start intense training, he would improve much faster than the Saiyans would, even with their near-death power up. But still, four months is simply too short a time span. They could have made it at least a year or something (since Freeza is supposed to be a threat to SSJG Goku, who is implied to be stronger than freaking Vegetto). I mean, Goku went from being weaker than Raditz to making fools of the Ginyu force in roughly less than 7 months of training (around 6 months of training at 10 times Earth's gravity and several days of training at around 100 times Earth's gravity). That's a power level increase of over 200 times (more than enough for someone who is almost as strong as a SSJ to become stronger than a SSJ3).  Also, considering Freeza has access to superior technology to Dr. Brief (Dr. Brief's space ships could not fly as fast through outer space as the ships of Freeza's Empire) it's not unreasonable at all that Freeza could have his forces construct some insane training chambers.

So yeah, it's not as unreasonable as some people claim, but I still feel the time period is too short. If this had happened before Battle of Gods, I probably wouldn't have been complaining but with the SSJG power up now available this power increase is really hard to believe. Not impossible (again, due to Freeza's body and access to technology) but nonetheless hard to believe.

And, of course, the biggest issue is the implications this has on the story. This makes Freeza a terrifying villain due to how quickly his power can increase, but it also makes Cell even more terrifying since he has Freeza's cells and, by logic, his abilities. Not to mention it renders Cell's quest to absorb 17 and 18 completely pointless since he could have simply trained to achieve that power. But, then again, maybe Cell didn't inherit ALL of Freeza's attributes. I don't know.

Also, I have to say, I am really loving the trend of these latest DBZ movies with their focus being shifted from the heroes to the villains. Beerus and Whis had a lot of screen time and focus in the previous movie and now, this movie is focusing on Freeza. I really hope this trend continues.

Well, there you go, everyone. What are your thoughts? :D
